"Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and that God's spirit lives in you? If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him; for God's temple is sacred, and you are that temple"
1 Cor 3:16-17

I am learning a hard lesson.
Taking care of one's body is actually harder than you think.
You know how your room can be cleaned in a whole long day (or two) and when you look at the results, you're happy with it?
And then the next day things get out of order again.
Why?
We are creatures of habit, and likewise we have a habit of getting busy.
Getting busy can lead to distractions, which can lead us into neglecting time with our True Savior!
Now, being busy isn't always a bad thing. There is actually a story in the Bible about a rich man who told himself to take it easy for the rest of his life just because he had plenty and he didn't need to work.
This did NOT please God.
However, at the same time, we are told to lay aside one day of the week to REST and relax. (Not to work)
But shouldn't we be busy?
Yes!
And NO!

Have you noticed when you get overbooked? You become stressed, hurried and forgetful.
Likewise if you are lazy, you become nearly good for nothing.
God wants us to REST and remember that a day set aside for relaxation and focusing on HIM, will rejuvenate us both physically and spiritually.

There was this one time when I compared the Holy Spirit to Water. The more of it you drink, the more refreshed, happy and healthy you feel.

Now, I understand that we are ALL busy.
(Believe me, I am going through my SENIOR year in College, and I want to GRADUATE!)
However, my suggestion is this.
1. Make a to-do list (Preferably with Scripture and Prayer at the beginning of the day)
2. Eat some fruit or veggies throughout the day (And pray! Just say a simple prayer while you walk to your next class)
3. Make sure you do your homework BEFORE you try to enjoy yourself. (Believe me, this is something I am still working on)
4. If you get stressed, stop working. Get up for five minutes and get some water, stretch, pet the cat (dog) etc. And pray to God for strength.

Notice I am saying "Pray" a lot.
1 Thessalonians 5:17 says
"Pray without ceasing"

Now I know some of you may say, "But Kitty! I am BUSY! I have class, and sometimes I just plain forget!"
I understand! Trust me I really do. It's hard to remember important things like that when there are a LOT of demands.
Pray in the morning for the Holy Spirit to remind you throughout the day to pray. (it WILL take time, although God has proven to work fast miracles before!)

Remember, God LOVES you! He gave his ONLY Son for your sake, and His mercies are new each day! He WANTS you to talk to him, and it doesn't matter what you've done in the past.
Romans 3:23
"for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God"
Read the Bible, even some of Gods ELITE made mistakes, and God still wrapped his arms around them and was ready to forgive them.
HE is the ultimate Father; and like any good Father, He wants to spend time with His children.

Take care of your body by spending time with the One who resides!

Blessings!

~ Kitty
